Philip's post-secondary-school working career started as an Intern at Steelcase's flagship office in New York City. He maintained and improved a marketing database of local architectural and design firms in the Manhattan area. He spent many lunch hours above the archives of the New York City Public Library in Bryant Park. It was a green oasis in the unrelenting gray urbanity of New York City.

Philip's second gig as an Intern was at a now-defunct Boulder, Colorado newspaper called the Boulder Planet. As an assistant to the Business editor he wrote a feature article, and many news briefs. He also maintained the "Who Own's the Block?" section of the newspaper.

After college graduation, Philip began work at a division of Afilliated Computer Services (ACS) called ACS Merchant Services (ACS MS). While there, he coordinated client conversions from competing payment platforms to the ACS MS payment platform. He also created the company's intranet site. In addition, he researched, recommended, and designed computer- and Internet-based point of sale solutions. And, he organized mass maillings to ACS MS conversion merchants.

In 1999, Philip and his then-girlfriend-and-now-wife took a sabbatical to Europe. They visited the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, and Greece. The European trip was followed by domestic travels that ended at a millennial celebration in a barn in Vermont. They celebrated the new year with a couple hundred friends.

Upon his return to Boulder, Colorado, Philip worked at a division of General Electric (GE) as a Design Engineer. In that role, he designed Enterprise computer systems for clients like Walmart and Apple

In September of 2006, Philip left GE to teach kids and adults how to ski at Eldora Mountain in Nederland, Colorado. The teaching experience was challenging, enlightening, and fun.

Philip currently works as an Information Technology Consultant for Primary Global Research and Townsend Consulting. Also, he is writing a collection of short stories and a novel. Some of his written work is available on his blog
